lol well then its meant to go on the outside of your boots i guess? to hold your pant leg down?
what are you doing tucking your pants in your boot anyways? mine have a 2nd ankle layer, but i still stretch it over my boot to make a seal at the bottom so no air or snow will get it.

i would say hook it on the laces.
The last 12" of my pants split into two different layers, like most snow pants ive had...wher the outside is the pant leg, and the inside is a black synthetic material with elastic on the bottom rim, that i usually stretch over my boot...then it has a strap with buttons on it to tighten.

it functions like a powder skirt, unless it has like a clip of some kind (sounds like this is what you are describing) in this case you are supposed to put it on the outside of the boot, the clip helps keep it from coming up. Burton pants have a button, this is for integration with one of their other products i think, this does NOT count as a clip

i know exactly what youre talking about. i took those out with a pair of pliers. it was stabbing me badly so i just slowly bent the two rings (on the other side of the hook) in and pushed it out.
that inner liner goes in my boot and the outer zips down near my ankles. never had any issue with it ripping or snow coming in.

haha, i guess snowboarding pants need instructions... i've never put those in to the inner lining... that sounds really uncomfortable, even without the hook that's supposed to hold them down.

It's supposed to go over your entire boot (not just the inner boot) and the clip attaches to your laces. The system seals your boots against getting any snow in it when you inevitably bail because you can't figure stuff out. Juuuust kidding . Let it snow already!!
