------------------Network and Security Manager-------------------------


Justification of the position:
This position is to hire a Network and Security Manager person who will provide VPN and RAS user support and be responsible for overall network support and administration. Managing security policies, recommendations, configurations, and implementations for both local infrastructure and systems, as Synarc global infrastructure and systems.
Major activities:
Maintain inventory control of network devices hardware and software
Analyzing and solving moderately complex systems problems
Working independently and making decisions
Working interactively with users and other IT staff for support issues.
Completing projects of small to medium scope
Provide support to global network working in conjunction with IT team
Building and documenting systems
Pinpointing problems and communicating ideas and solutions for resolutions
Providing general oversight, backup and maintenance for networking devices
Leads the installation, integration and maintenance of network hardware and software in all offices
Assist in training users with network and basic software functions.
Assist in developing, modifying and operating Network Security Policies in accordance with organizational SOPs
Other duties as assigned
Maintain accurate records to remain in accordance with customer obligations and standards
Responsibilities:
Support and administration of the global Network infrastructure and security.
Supports global support and IT needs as instructed.
Provide solutions, support and documentation for remote users access
Keeping up to date inventory on all networking devices including hardware, software and support contract.
Manage all resources, requests, timelines and project status communications for assigned projects.
Provides consultation to IT management on information technology issues.
Requirements:
CCNA, CISSP or equivalent work experience.
4 year College graduate.
To be available after business hours on an on-call basis as needed.
Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
To have and use extensive real work experience with information technology and networking systems and processes.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 2000 & 2003 Server, Windows 2000/XP Professional, and Windows 98.
Strong Familiarity with TCP/IP and Microsoft & Cisco Networking
Experience in telecommunications and physical wiring
Familiarity with PBX systems, particularly Nortel & Siemens
Strong knowledge of VPN and remote access solutions
Familiarity with networked printers and copiers, particularly Hewlett-Packard LaserJet
Knowledge of IT network security and anti-virus principles
