Another Corvette causing accidents....

http://www.theksbwchannel.com/news/10792326/detail.html

Went through this interesection just after the accident. Saw the CHP and a firetruck heading to it, but didn't see why they were heading there.

Found out why this morning.

Looks like the 50 year old 'Vette owner thought he could pass the Acura, decided he couldn't get around in time due to the Honda coming at it. Sideswipes the Acura, then goes head-on into the Honda.

(My thoughts on what happened due to travelling that area everyday, twice a day)

Pretty sad since it was still light enough out to see oncoming traffic.

Another case of "Hey, I have a Corvette...I can do anything!!!"

Guess not.

That's a terrible story. And I'm sure that's not what the guy was thinking. I get very nervous anytime I try and do an opposite lane pass. The people in front never once slowed down, even just a little, to let me get in front.

yeah...sometimes they speed up just to **** you off and deny you passage, but in any case, if that corvette driver was any good at driving he should have braked and gotten back behind the acura to avoid oncoming traffic. that's sad. hopefully krinkov doesn't start driving like this

Exactly. If the Acura was being an *******, the obvious choice is to brake.

Either the vetter driver was taking a risk, would let his ego be bruised in his powerful Corvette, or just had bad judgement. Clearly a dumb vette move. Too bad he didn't kill himself instead of the people he killed.

hey Marc, what color was the vette? and did you see if it was a z06? theres an older guy that lives down Hopes road and hes probably around that age with a z06. I've been sitting at the corner before and he's pulled up to the stop sign and left in a faster/louder/cockier manner than most people (including the SUV sports car drivers)

if people see you are passing they should slow down and move a little.. polite thing to do.. if they dont just pass them realllllllllllly close and they WILL move over a little. (dont do that with rednecks in big trux tho)

I think I have yet to read a story where the idiot is the one who dies and the innocent people walk away. It's always the not at fault who get killed for some reason.

Hehe. What I don't understand is why he passed if he could see on coming traffic, and if he couldn't see any on coming traffic and it came up on him that soon, then he obviously didn't have a safe distance to pass. Either way what an r tard and I hope the guy gets punished for his actions :/. I don't know about the vette but I do know that unless I am trying to pass a fast car, even if they try to speed up I still pass them and he was driving a vette so I dunno what happened :P.
