depends what they are buying them for. If you want a car that gets good gas mileage if left alone and will run for quite some time, again if left alone, then the civic is a good buy. If they are even a smidge concerned with performance then the Fox Body is the way to go. Aftermarket support is HUGE, you can pick up a long block for the stang for about the same price as a rebuild kit for the civic. After a steeda 5 link, some engine goodies, and tightening the nut behind the wheel the stang is leagues ahead of the civic.
