I feel pretty bad for anybody out in Pleasanton.
They just put in a speed-sensitive stoplight that turns red if you are above the speed limit. I wonder how long it will be before this thing is responsible for accidents or traffic snarls?

awesome, so speeding cars with crappy brake systems or on rainy days will not be able to stop in time and end up blazing through a red light - which probably quadruples the possibility of an accident. Brilliant.
I should just design a system that once a certain speed is reached, the car automatically swerves off a cliff, regardless of whether or not a cliff is there.

I've heard of lights that turn red to discourage speeding ... they're called timed traffic signals and make it a lot faster to get through, say, Sunset Blvd in the City at a steady 35mph. What the hell is wrong with those people in Pleasanton? By keeping cars sitting at red lights, you increase the number of cars on the road at any one time, which diminishes safety and increases air pollution.
Bunch of *******.
