Seriously guys, what's wrong with finding a CENTRAL location so no one has to drive an extra hour or more? Somewhere in the East Bay (Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro, etc.) would be pretty damn close to the middle for just about everyone. That's why I, and a few others, suggested Treasure Island.
Just like the South Bay folks don't want to drive any more than they have to, I'm sure Greg, and the North Bay folks, doesn't/don't want to drive the extra hour or so to get to any location in the South Bay. Just my $0.02.

Now if there was a beach in Capitola/SC area that could host it, that would be SEX.

I guess I just don't understand the need to change locations. If a central location is found that ends up working well this year, why not keep it at the same place every year?

Because things arise at locations... hammy was awesome but it had it's issues and there was some things that came up the last couple years.
The park out in Navato is rad but I'm irked that they felt they needed to raise the price of parking the day we were there to get the most money out of us as possible. They had a hand written paper covering the price sign.... And it's in friggin BFE for 90% of the BAIC.
We have BAIC members spread out from Salinas to Sac to all over the North Bay. This years organizers are just looking at options as it's their first go at organizing it. So all things are under a review (good for them!).
I think if we have a decent list of places then it would be rad to have it move around so all of the users can share the drive. I don't really car where it is to tell you the truth. I prefer parks and I'd prefer something in the south bay, but if it's at TI I'll go, if it's where it was last year I'll go, if it's back at Hammy I'll go.
Now if we could work something out with a location that was cool with us then I think that would be the best case. Like an all inclusive price that can save us money and still get them paid more than they do most any day of the year...
Here is a place that is rad...

The strangers do a show there every year that has 400 cars and it's AMAZING.

I like the sound of an all-inclusive price; it kinda sucks to get "nickled and dimed" on parking by the rangers/venue management.
Kelley Park is a nice venue, too. Saw a Civil War reenactment there years ago.

Kelly park is walking distance from my house. lol It's a really nice place actually, and free to park and there's a ton of parking. I'd love to do it there but I don't think we can get the others to agree.

Lessons to learn from previous BAM inquests:
1. Date needs to be before school starts (attendance)
2. Location needs to be a reasonable temperature (not 100+ degrees)
3. Location needs to be central, so no one group gets it in their back yard while the other groups have to drive 100+ miles each way. Somewhere it's mentioned that vendors have to trailer their cars there, and how it's not cheap. Where did those concerns go?
Remember, there's a lot more to planning this than simply sitting behind a keyboard, making a few calls, and such. Wherever this is held, I'll be driving there at least two or three times to do site surveys and planning, coordinating with suppliers (toilet delivery and such), and laying out the site for the placement of vendors, BBQ and DJ.
