I'm not. I prefer the park bbq family kinda deal. If TI was gonna be a reality it's just going to be too damn expensive for the organizers, vendors and members.

I for one would like it to move to a park more centrally located in the bay. TI and Navato are both $200 days for me and I just can't do that right now.

If you want to do TI it will forever change what this event is. I want people to think about that.

I just don't think it's fair to ask Vendors to kick down $250 or more if TI is used and then ask them to kick down for nice raffle prizes, shut their shops down for the day and spend the money to get their. Towing cars and gear is not cheap.

I'd rather see it low key and family based. Keep expenses down for vendors and members (we are still in the biggest recession since the great depression) and have a killer raffle so that the charity can benefit and the members can have a good time.

Just doesn't make sense to me to ask so much of the vendors when they aren't selling anything at the event. Most shows and events you go to vendors are paying for slots because they're selling stuff and making money. Our vendors pay to hang out with us. How ****ing cool is that.

What would the vendors want? Low key and family based is cool for our little community. But isn't it the vendors' ultimate goal to raise awareness to their services and products? TI would provide the "wow" factor to lure newcomers to BAM and create more exposure for the vendors. Any vendors want to chime in?

It seems as though people are making assumptions without knowing the facts, or determinations we have not made yet. For now, Treasure Island is one location under consideration - there ARE others we're considering as well.

I still think that Treasure Island is the most centrally located place suggested thus far. Mt. Hamilton is essentially in the South bay and Novato is essentially the North bay. It's not like anyone's suggested a location that's more centrally located than Treasure Island. I'm sure Greg is open to any and all suggestions at this point. I'm also fairly sure that dogs are allowed at Treasure Island.

If that was the goal BAM would have gotten a LOT bigger a LONG time ago. This meet could have hit subiesport and had a huge lay out years ago and if it was done at TI in the form of a big "show" it would easily get a 4 page spread in Modified or mags like that if we contacted them.

The vendors have put stuff out for people to see but I don't recall ever seeing a vendor set up with a CC machine to sell stuff. The vendors participate because they appreciate the community. These vendors would NOT exist if it wasn't for the BAIC.. i-club would not exist if not for the activity of the BAIC. This is why I get on people when I see them ****ing over the community. We have worked together (me since 03 and some of these folks since the late 90's) to build a community that is what it is. Where else in this country do you have as many quality vendors as we have.

If you live in the bay area and you know about BAM then you know about the vendors.

That's why you have folks like Mike at GST sending over $2000 in sway bars for the raffle even though they could not make it.

If the goal is to make this a HUGE event and get publicity (which I pitched YEARS ago) then I have some ideas that I think would help and I have the experience to help. But as the years have passed I see why Daniel worked to keep it big but small if you know what I mean.

But I can't speak for all the vendors or the new "committee." Most of the vendors I know and have talked with and I think I have a pretty good grasp on why they help the way they help.

I'd be curious what the other locations under consideration are.

I would consider anything I have to cross the bridges for "north bay."

We had it at Hammy for years. Now two years in the north bay. How about a couple years in the south bay... way south bay. LOL. Let some of you guys make the drive I have to make every year. LOL. Plus... Santa Cruz is the isht.

Because instead of having people come to the event, because it's only ~65 mile each way drive (1/2 tank?), we would have people like me who would be using at least a tank to a tank and a half (say ~$90) worth of fuel in order to attend the event. As far as a "family park" that is "centrally located", the closest to perfectly centered is the town of Hercules. That town has NOTHING that would be capable of managing more than 100 people, let alone the crowd we normally attract.

As for other places under consideration, the SF people, the Alameda people - they're going to be the happy ones.

Yeah I'd like to see it come back to the south bay for a year or two. We can trade off every year or something. I vote we do it in Santa Cruz. LOL!
