Well, if we go ahead with renting Treasure Island, we would NOT be charging a parking fee - that space would be included with the rental - hence the $2,000 rental fee.

As far as catering, we (the committee) have that covered. We feel that we're capable of producing a quality meal for the $10 per person we're going to be charging.

I'm not really concerned about those (few) who have dietary restrictions and NEED to bring their own food...they're TYPICALLY not the "whinemakers", and are willing to pay to enjoy the event.

I'd bump some of the threads which I'm referring to if I had the time/interest in showing you what I'm talking about.

For the most part, I'm seeing a rather positive response, which will allow me to move forward in bringing a high-quality event to the Subaru community, with people willing to share the higher costs of producing said event.
IMO food vendor is the way to go. I think for the event there should be a fee to attend. that way that cost can be covered.

but food should be separate from this and not mandatory. which is why i believe a catered food truck, or bbq truck is a good solution for this.

Uh, that's not true all the time... When we rent the Stafford sites (or hamilton for that matter) we ALWAYS have to pay a gate fee on top of the rental fee (and don't forget insuring the event)

Food vendor is not the way to go...Roo can organize the catering just fine, he's the master of whipping a grilling team into shape, just give him some pits and the food will be A1.

I know you were a mod for about 20 minutes, but your opinion is not needed here Jeff

I don't totally agree. Last year was $20 including the gate fee and I got a Burger with no bun or fixings. Year before I ate nothing. Beyond that I think you guys should be free to enjoy yourselves and handle other parts of the event.

You'd be surprised how prices compare. Hell I could have catered my daughters first bday party for less than it cost me to cook and the food would have been better.

Why? I'd rather have the icluber to talk to. I don't like the idea of a Roach coach but a catering team is good. Especially if the event is going somewhere we'd have to rent grills anyways.
