Alum Rock Pho 54
Just a heads up to fellow i-club members. My family and a friend went to the Pho 54 off Alum Rock yesterday for lunch. it's usually pretty packed during that time and we could only find parking at the kelly moore paint and mountain mike. i think the mountain mike pizza place is new.
we had lunch and when we came back, my car was towed. Apparently, there are some ghetto signs (they are new) that state that particular part of the lot is only for kelly moore paint and mountain mike patrons. it was hand written and taped on the sign. anyhow, the new mountain mike manager/owner has been enforcing the new crappy signs (must have nothing to do)....what a pain in the butt, not to mention i am $250 lighter in the wallet.
just be careful when you park in that part of the lot. when i picked up my car from the tow company. there were at least 4 others in the three hour window....called by the same place, same dude.
wasn't a good day yesterday.....damn...and i don't think there's much i can do now.

take a photo of the sign. Sue them.
Seriously. That is not a lawful sign. That 'could' have been put up AFTER you parked there. He has no way to prove it was not.
A small claims form will go a long way considering he is just the manager and not the owner. The owners will probably just reimburse you.
I'd also look into what type of tow truck was used on your vehicle as even though it may seem fine now, they could have done some serious damage to your diffs.

I once got towed from a lot close to bart. They put up new signs and towed something like 18 cars in one day. There were a bunch of us standing there on our cell phones trying to figure out WTF happened to our cars.
They were real signs and they should not have been able to enforce it but they did.
Then when I got my car they charged me like $80 more because it was after 5pm. Bunch of ****e.....
Got towed in S.F. too. Lot was like 1hr or something like that and we were there for about 35 minutes. Turns out the tow company was chalking so that customers wouldn't question it...Crappy part was the guys at the tow company were 400 pound tongans.
