Alpine head unit tuning
hey any alpine pro's, could you lend me a hand in tuning my deck to sound better. i have one of the higher end i-personalize decks and theres too many features...after 6 months of having it im still not happy with the sound. let me know if you could give me a hand. tia.

if you have time correction, use it. quick overview: sitting in the driver's seat you're closer to your left speaker than your right. time correction allows you to delay the sound coming from the left to make it "equidistant" from the right. the sound will be much better.

what model unit is it and what is it about the sound that you don't like?
depending what unit you have you can go with an active system (if you have all the hardware), change the time correction, play with your EQ and a few other things.
time correction make a huge difference if you have it.
the EQ's can be a bit tricky to master but after playing around with it you'll get the hang of it.
if you have a graphic EQ use that one first. its a little easier to adjust than the other one.

lemme know if you need help tuning your system.
i can "simulate" an RTA by taking the EQ bands and burning a CD with those frequencies as test tones.
then using an SPL meter, take a reading of the system that way. but slower than using a 30 band RTA... lol...

i do have crappy speakers, in fact theyre stock. i know, thats the big problem right, however like i said, the tuning on this head unit is so poor that i felt like the sound quality degraded when i spent the extra 150 bux on the next step up HU with the new features...not good. i just wanna get it back to where it was before AT LEAST, then i can get new speakers and whatnot when i get the money. as of now, i just wanna make it so i can listen to semi acceptable SQ when im not listening to the vrroom psh vrroom.
