Is that all that is bad about it? Cap and trade is a good start to me.
You're right, it's not evil, it's expensive and what is the overall goal? The betterment of the environment?? health of the citizenry? Then get rid of coal, and that would be money well spent, throwing millions for small gains, does nothing much, except spend money, throw it someplace that'll make a difference.

What is wrong with them? They have a good conservative opinion. Peter Schiff is brilliant, although he is not related with any news station. It's good that on PUBLIC television, they show the other opposing arguments.

The only crap I see on TV is democrats turning more communist, running around and boasting about Obama's Ideas.

This is the FCC, this is a load of bull crap.

What we need a station on national TV, that lists the proposal, the pros of it (by any party), the negatives, and EDUCATE people on these issues. Democrats and Republicans can only do so much for their side, the rest really is just nonchalant. People don't do enough research. I don't understand why there isn't a national TV station that just runs the recent bills in circles and shows the pros and cons and the arguments for the viewer to decide and push the argument.

A lot of this crap is hoax and buttered up on TV. Show the facts, show the arguments and opinions of the pros and cons. Put the telephone # or online website that allows access to your local representative and senate reps and allow feedback.

I might as well start a website that does this, I'd be making tons of $$ as well as giving the citizen (who is supposed to be in control of this country) the knowledge they need to form an educated opinion, tell their representative to vote a certain way. Or if they, and many don't like how their rep voted, they can try and boot him out of his seat.

This should be done on a website or on national TV, makes it easier and not as confusing to find information and contacts to these reps, find how these reps voted on EVERY single decision, because if it's something that you do care about, and they voted the opposite way, then you can say something about it.

IMO, right now, this has to be the WORST effin' backdoor tax I've ever seen in my life.

America is in the worst shape. The last thing we need is to have more jobs lost, outsourced, giving us a disadvantaged opportunity (we need green jobs, but other countries could care less, therefore taking those jobs for a cheaper wage) laying off more people AND SERIOUSLY FOR WHAT?

I can give you a thousand research arguments by REPUTABLE and EDUCATED evironmentalists that will STATE that this will only have MAYBE a -.002 of a degree temp change by 2012.

Global warming, go screw yourselves. More like a lie to tax american families who are already hurting, and giving our jobs away. Go to hell you democrats, how the hell is this going to fix our economy, cuz it sure isn't going to help the world with global warming.

If you really want to do something to urge me on then do something that lowers the ridiculous price of solar panels and their installation!

Over the last couple of decades we have become a society obsessed with lowering our carbon footprint and doing what we can to preserve the natural environment. We get it. We're working on it. We don't need outrageous scams like this!
Wow, good post! i agree!

BTW, tankless water heaters don't really cost less in real life...people tend then to take longer showers, wash their hands with hot water etc., and it takes a lot of gas to "instantly" heat water...so after the second year, the gas usage is on average very close...the comparisons you see show a 10 minute shower versus a 10 minute shower..but what usually happens is your 10 min shower becomes a 20 min shower, etc...some savings maybe, but not a lot...in essence compared to the price, it usually doesn't pay for itself...but you do get a lot of hot water

Uh, Fox news is a little over the top IMHO, but that doesn't mean it's all wrong.

that's true, and i'm not trying to attack you here, but it also doesn't mean that fox news, as a news source, is credible. for example, whenever gop members are caught for wrong doings (infidelity is usually the case), they change the party name from Republican to Democrat when their picture is shown on screen. I'm not saying Democrats as a party are any better, I'm only pointing out the futility of using a news source like fox news to support your argument. It also lets others know your general political viewpoint and willingness to see other sides.

Cap & Trade is just one step in the journey towards paying a UN Tax.

I was pretty willing to see the other side, before all of this even started I was a democrat at heart. Then around when Obama got elected and his policies and "change" he promised us moved us from mediocre to worse and his lies in the office and the amount of dumb crap he has done within the first few weeks is what got me to move over onto the hard left.

I know what the other side is, but the bottom line is that actions speak louder than the words.

Obama got some HUGE stimulus package out of no where, but have I seen a penny of it? Hell no. Even when Bush was nearing the end of his presidency, at least I got a check in the mail from his stimulus package that didn't cost nearly as much as this 800billion+ from Obama. What is worse is that he just decides to spend money we don't have, and put is in a bigger debt than ever before.

He has absolutely ZERO and I mean ZERO policies and bills to make up for the debt. He even signed a good 9,000+ earmarks that he said he would get rid of within the first couple of months.

Besides his lying, because all politicians lie, this guy has done worse to the economy than Bush did within his 8 years of presidency in 6 months.

Until the US gets rid of the failing firms to free up the jobs, and until the government backs out of the market and lets capitalism work the way it's supposed to, then the US isn't getting out of debt. The government has absolutely zero clue on how to run the economy, the economy is ran by the citizens, not the government. Sure it's ok to regular a few things, milk, etc., but controlling automotive and especially the banking industry and saying everything is FDICed is dumb. Nothing can ever be 100% guaranteed.

Imagine if people went to a bank, and instead of just throwing money into any bank. They actually had to research which banks are doing well and invest their money with them.

FDIC = bull ****, Fed Reserve = bull ****.

Give me a president that will question the Fed and will be willing to boot 'em and I'll vote for 'em (right now that's only Ron Paul).
