accelerometers, anyone have one?

i was jsut thinking it would be kind of nice to know my rate of acceleration 1/4 mile times and such with out having to go to the track.
I did a little seaching around and found these 2

My friend used to have one is his Z3, I believe it was called a G-meter or G-force meter. It was pretty cool to mess around with, had 1/4 times, 0-60, G forces and hp although his wasn't very accurate. I'd say do a lot of research before you buy one so you don't end up with trash.

I use an old accelerometer....... just gotta make sure you prog it with the car weight + you in it

those things aren't very accurate at all... why not just save money and goto the track?

Not true. Car and Driver ran a review of several of them a while back and found more than one to be nearly as accurate as the ubiquitous-with-car-magazines VBOX, itself accurate to within 0.06mph.

my ecutek is + or - 3 hp from a true dyno run. I think my ecutek is more accurate since its real world performance.
