If you've never done a timing belt install before, i suggest you do a bit more research on 'how to' install. It's not that hard imo, but if stuff does'nt line up like it's supposed to, it can go south quick.

Hey all,
Thanks sooo much for the offers to help!!! It means a lot that the i-club community really is a community. Something came up and I have to run into the city today (I volunteer at a summer camp in chinatown and need to help set up their middle school camping trip.) So the car waits on jack stands, fender liners removed, fenders un bolted. Another thing too, seems like i lucked out on some passes to hike half dome on monday, so it looks like the car will be sitting for a few more days. I'll update you all when I set a schedule for doing work (maybe some tomorrow, none sunday, probably a lot next week on tues/wed/thurs/fri) and when I decide what kind of beer to stock the cooler with.

Up and at em! I have the exhaust manifold, turbo, IC, collant tanks, fans, and a few other bits out, and oil/coolant drained. Timing belt cover is off and I'm staring at the timing belt. Anyone have experience doing this? First of all, I was shocked to see that there isn't a timing belt guide installed in my car (I have a gates and tomei guide going in but seriously has anyone else seen this? I can't imagine there was a timing belt issue previously as I bought the car with 30k or so, but I can't understand why there's no guide installed.) I have a good write up from nasioc on it, just wanted to see if anyone's available tomorrow who's done this before. After that, brake fluid drained, front axles go in, then the pnp manifold and turbo and other bits. Then coilovers and brake pads.
