65mph in a 65 = no front plate and state ref

lol just my luck. driving home today on 680 going 65 in traffic, chp pulls along side me and then slows and gets behind me signalling to pull over. I had my windows down the whole time and he asks to roll them up. Then he tells me i'm getting a ticket for no front plate, tint, and modified exhaust. All i have on my car right now is a catback for exhaust, all 3 stock cats are on the car. I even told him that and that he could look under the car and see they are all there.

Oh well at least it will be easy to put the stock intake and intercooller back on, sorta worrying about the turbo inlet hose because I dont have a stock one to put back on. Anyone think i will have a problem passing state ref with a red inlet?

Hah this hella sucks, my new turbo setup and exhaust just came in also.

Dude, have another cop right that isht off... So you dont have to go to a ref, you can just pay for a noise ticket, which is like $90.

aww man...that sucks. i think that you should replace the inlet hose with a stock one just in case.
You probably won't get into any more trouble at the state ref, if you go, because you have your cats but good luck anyways.

Sucks that you have to go through the hassle.

well on the ticket it says modified emmisions. He didnt even look under the hood, all he saw was i had a catback and assumed i had no cats. So can i really avoid going to the state ref? I just want to get this all signed off soon instead of waiting 6 months.

if you do end up going to the ref the inlet hose should be ok... ive been to the ref 3 times (for hondas) and usualy they are pretty good about stuff like that as long as you pass the sniffer.

but you should do what daniel said if you can.

how much are the state ref fees? All that i would have to do is put the stock intercooler and intake on and then everything will be stock in the engine except for the inlet hose. I guess maybe ill try to pass with it on.

Also do I need to wait for a courtesy notice or can i get this done as soon as i make an appointment? hah sorta funny that ill get this done then ill put all the ILLEGAL parts back on after

Just out of curiosity, were you in 5th gear when he pulled you over? Were you weaving in and out or crossing a yellow line?

I'm just asking because it sounds so bizarre to be pulled over for essentially nothing. Seems like they would have real laws to enforce.

Tint and front plate is enough to get you pulled over without excess speed or exhaust.

I was in 5th gear cruising along going 65mph in the lane next to the slow lane. The chp pulled onto the freeway two cars infront and then he gradually slowed down and then got behind me. I had my front two windows down even.

He just assumed i had a really modified car. It looks exactly the same as it did before i took all the mods off.
