i live right by china beach...usually run down there, baker beach, and the pac trail.

i hope they can clean this oil up before too much wildlife is affected.

58,000 gallons lost isn't going to affect much. That's probably a fraction of what is turned into gas and then sold in one day in Cal.

I thought it came from a freighter not an oil tanker.

who the hell misses the bay bridge? honestly...i thought they had radar/sonar, whatever for that kinda stuff. idiots

They don't use radar and sonar to pull into port. They have an expert "pilot" come on board to navigate the ship from outside the bay all the way to whatever pier they were pulling into. Apparently this pilot wasn't paying attention or took a big risk.

they said there was heavy fog on the news last night but then said we are drug testing the ones involved heh.

I sent this link to a few yesterday when it came on the news. When i lived in oregon we had a few ships make a mess on our beaches takes alot of time money and environmental clean ups. Helped with animal rescue to clean them off +1 for dawn soap but its a messy job to clean up.
