yea the defense came thru HUGE! played like a 1st ranked D
with 3 sacks! (MANNY came in unsacked) and NO TD throws by manny
thats HUGE right there! NO other team this year has been able to shut down INDI like the 49ers D did today

Kinda sick the 49ers never return to what works. They spread 2min offense ripped most teams up, yet they don't go back to it. If you put up 0 pts the 2nd half in any game, you're playing REALLY BAD on offense. Either it's the players, or its the O-coordinator and I think Jimmy Raye is a douche and we need to bring back Myers/shanahan.

In any case, I am watching the GB vs Min. game just for the aspect of farve, but I wouldn't classify Indy and the 49ers to a st. louis/raider team.

I know you're a hater of the 49ers, but seriously Indy is a pretty "real" as it gets football team. 49ers did a good job bottling up Manning, but the offense didn't do too much.

Trust me it would be nice to see a team from the bay win!

Eh, 49ers will be fixing it soon. Jimmy Raye needs to stick with a spread offense. Let Alex Smith make people stars. He can read and make the throws. 49ers need to understand the ground is pound is necessary later on. You gotta make your team establish points, and be able to get explosive points. If you get early points, then you can pound the ball. If you're behind, you can come back and not be too afraid of a 14pt-21pt deficit.
Smith, Davis, Crabtree, Gore can all be probowl players if the coordinator lets them pass the ball around early and often to get more points. 49ers have a good defense (wouldn't call it great yet) but it's getting there.
The thing that really pisses me off, are the scoring drives the 49ers have done in the 2minute drill. They have been extremely good getting final points, why not use that during the ball game? It's efficient, it's explosive, it just plain well works. Gore will get his time to carry the team and run the ball after the niners get a lead.
One more point... 49ers need help on their 3rd down stoppages, and 3rd down conversions. That's the money down, and they suck at it. (against the colts they did good) but they also let up 3 3rd and 15's+ ?!? can't do that.
One more thing.. 49ers need to look at the Pittsburgh playbook on how to set up Screens. They're horrible.
