It should not void your warranty going somewhere else, and i'd highly suggest not going to the dealer as they charge ~ $700 for the 30K

Give LIC motorsports a call, i'm sure they can do it for you. www.licmotorsports.com

They are a little far from you, but their service is worth the drive.

hmm... i think the dealers charge bout 200+, depends on where you go. the dealer in my area wanted 4 large bills plus change.
if you can do the work yourself, gooo for it, or else just take it to a shop...

You think wrong. Carlsen = $768. It's worth it, but only if you are stupid, have gobs of cash to toss around, you like supporting dis-honest businesses, you are into gambling and don't really care about your car. Otherwise - I would go to GB Motorsports.

I actually called Carlsen and they're charging $585 (after a $100 coupon). A couple of other random shops are charging roughly the same. However, Independence Acura in Mountain View (where I used to take my Integra) quoted less than $300. I had pretty good experiences with them with the Integra, but I'm slightly concerned because 90% of the cars they work on are Hondas/Acuras. Do you think this is a big deal?
i'd stick with a shop that works on subarus daily...

Hehe, do I detect sarcasm?

Dorifto is right, not all dealers charge the same. I got my 30k done by Maita in Sacramento and it was around $275. Had I thought about it more, I would have taken it to an independent shop, but live and learn (and luckily I didn't pay too much).

He said "i think the dealers charge bout 200+, depends on where you go." Then I said "Carlsen = $768." This was the price I was quoted when I asked last month. It's also the price on the wall in the service department.

I never said "all the dealers charge $768" which, if I had, it would have required a standard sassy remark like the one he posted.

But it's all good. I mean, this is how it works right? I can be "wrong" if that makes people feel better.
