Waste of money. $190K for a Nissan? Hah. Rather go out and buy a Porsche GT2.

Hmm with $5k down, works out to only a $3840 monthly payment.

IMO, the value is in the rarity....not that the GT2 isn't rare.

Why is the GT2 worth $190K and the GT34 not? Performance? Styling? Build Quality? Brand name? Racing heritage?

Not that I'd spend my money on either one (can you say Elise & STi & Outback 3.0R & Titan P/U instead), but I don't see why the GT2 is worth the $190K and the Nissan isn't.

I just read an article in one of the free men's mags (sorry, forgot which one--think it's Esquire though) I get about that Nismo edition R34.

From what I recall reading in the article, special features include:

--450hp++ FULLY built engine (even more so than previous "special edition" R34's). It's basically a race car powerplant in street body cladding.

--basically ALL of Nismo's R34 parts catalog strapped on, including suspension, drivetrain, aero products

--as mentioned, limited to 20 and supposedly, they already have several people, including a guy in the US on the waiting list w/deposits down

Lot of a $$$ for a cult-classic/second-tier exotic, but heck, for whomever can afford it, more power to them!! (no pun intended)

I'll try to find the article and post more 411 later if someone else doesn't.

Exclamation

thats funny.... if memory serves right, the R34 was discontinued as of august 2003 b/c of emissions issues, just like the S15 Silvia. how could it be a 2005?

cool, i got backup LOL. but seriously, i read it in Sprot Compact Car, where they said that Nissan reefused to conform to the new emissions laws, prompting the cancellation of the Skyline and Silvia line, although they are going to be re-released, in R35 and S16 form though. i think that "2005" skyline is a big fat scam.
