I just bought a 90 Prelude Si for $250. Went to smog it and it passed the sniffer but failed on the timing marks. How do I go about adjusting it to pass?

 

The vtec must be broken

redline is 6500, not sure it has vtec

 

it kicked in, and you didnt even know it.

 

Use a timing light on the crank. There should be some bolts holding the distributor onto the head. Loosen the bolts and rotate the distributor until the mark on the crank is within specs. The specs should be on the underside of the hood.
