Yeah, I agree. I skipped mine - 10 years is too soon nowadays. Some people are still in grad/prof school, etc. lol. It should be 15 years minimum.

A lot of schools go to every 5 years after the 10th.

My graduating class was only 102 so 10 years was actually pretty cool. I didn't keep in contact with ANY of my class. Talking none. I moved away immediately after graduation. Went to livermore to lay carpet and then to SoCal for school. Came back and ended up in S.F. And the thing about going to HS in Santa Cruz is MOST people leave. I can only think of a handful that stuck around. There's just not that much opportunity here in SC.

Now I drop lines with a few of them and it's pretty cool. Seeing people's kids and how successful some of them got. One dude is a crazy good photographer, another was flying generals around in Iraq, one owns a steak house in S.F. A lot of interesting things.

I don't think I'll do the 15 just because... hell I could still be out of work. Don't want to be THAT guy. You know. Got too much pride. I can't stand being out of work and am having a hard time processing a possible career change to grunt work. I did too much forward moving in my life after high school with no help. damned economy.

Anyways... it's actually a pretty fun deal. I highly recommend it if you don't have to travel too far. Even if you reconnect with ONE friend from back then it's worth it. It's funny to hear how people remember things. Everyone remembers things in their own way.

This sounds good, but with the advent of Facebook, et al, I would argue that the value of reunions diminishes. I heard from someone I haven't seen since junior high on it, and it just totally blew my mind. I can't imagine going to that reunion lol. I suppose any reunion only really is of value if you had good friends then that you just did not keep in touch with. But with Facebook and the like, you now have the technology to "lightly" keep in touch with a lot of people, so the need to reconnect in person as a group isn't as pressing.

You think someone from Jr High finding you is crazy...

The summer between my Freshman and Sophomore years in HS my mom moved houses. We essentialy didn't have a house for a few months and stayed in a Residence Inn. I wasn't there much, but there were a couple girls a year younger from New Jersey staying there that my friends and I hung out with a few times. Anyhow, I didn't even remember anything about it. A few months back one of the girls finds me on FB. That is crazy.

So to recap - I met a girl over 15 years ago. Only knew her for a month or so. Completely forgot all about her. She found me on FB. CRAZY!LKFJD!LUI!!

Jr High that you saw often? Not quite as crazy.

Her friend request was creepy and intruiging - "Did you grow up in Costa Mesa and stay at a Residence Inn when you were a kid?" Yeeaaaahhh...

I've got a good one, then. The pastor's daughter at the church we went to when I was in elementary school found me on FB. She moved back to Japan when we were like 10 and found me through one of my college friends that was her pen pal in high school because their churches were like sister churches or something.

1.) Hire an actor that is either WAY fatter than you or WAY skinnier than you to play you at the reunion.

b.) film it.

volleyball.) Profit.
