+1,000,000 for Viper alarm

So the first thing I put on my car when I got it was a Viper 791XV alarm system. It is the alarm that has the pager that lets you know if your alarm is going off....you all probably know all about it.

So I was in Walgreens in San Bruno on Fiday night with my girlfriend. I was in the magazine section thumbing through a mag, when my remote beeps at me. I look at it and it says "sensor 1".

I put the magazine down and started towards my car. Halfway there my remote starts beeping like crazy and says "impact" with a hammer and the trunk highlighted. My walk turns into a run and as I get outside I hear my alarm.

I look around and see a guy in the lot about 30 feet from my car. He asks me if it's my car and says that a car just hit me and took off. I asked who did it and he points across the lot to a white, late 80's, Oldsmobile tearing out of the lot and down a side street. As he is telling me this I start running even faster to my car. There was a long scratch on my bumper with some white paint on it. My girlfriend comes out shortly after me and I yell at her to get in the car.

We jump in the car and I tell her what happened. She takes my phone and calls 911 as I am going after the car. I follow him down the street, driving pretty quickly, and catch up to him. For some reason they were stopped at a stop sign, with everyone out of the car (almost like a Chinese fire drill).

They see my car and all jump into the car, but one guy couldn't get in so they left him....they actually bailed on their boy. They take off like a bat out of hell. Going about 50, running stop signs, powersliding around corners, pretty much asshatish. I got close enough to get his plates, gave them to the dispatcher, and pulled over to wait for a cop.

The cop comes, who happens to be a childhood friend, and I give the report. He said he knows exactly who the kid is and that car got stopped about 45 min before he hit me. My buddy says he is gonna go to his house and get a confession out of him. 30 min and 3 cigarettes late, I was pumping serious adrenaline, I get a call and my buddy said said he admitted to hitting me and running. So now I'm gonna talk to my buddy about pressing hit and run charges.

GOT THE ***AR!!!

Yea I was stoked when I got the call from the cop.

Snowboarder...I currently don't have it hooked up for the remote start because at the time people at my work had to move my car every once in awhile. I didn't want them to leave my car in gear and have me remote start it into a curb or another car. But now I am the only one that drives it so I am thinking about getting it installed.

I went to Auto Innovations in Burlingame. They are awesome.

that is so cool. the price you paid for your alarm totally paid for itself in one incident.
