there is a place called autoglass on 4th street in san francisco. our company takes all our vehicles there when we have to get glass repairs/replacements. ill get the information for you when I go there this week to pick up out work van.

I had mine done at safelite, i also have the auto dimmer. Make sure you tell them that you have an aluminum roof/hood so they don't dent it.

I went to their shop off of san carlos (near valley fair). You can reuse your old molding but watch out for leaks. Also make sure you pick a date when its not raining because you want the glue to set on the windshield

My body shop in town said to stay away from safelite... its what AAA gives people... I had to fight to get my OEM windshield without having to pay extra.

I kinda organized a group buy for windshields a while back and we got it for $150-$160 for PPG glass. I paid $180 for my 02 with PPG glass. It's a place in South San Jose and although I've passed the car onto my brother shortly after getting a new windshield, I believe it's still holding up very well. As for the autodimming mirror part, it's just a wire that connects to the mirror, not to the windshield like some Mercedes rain sensors.

When I had a crack on my 04 WRX windshield, I went with this guy, whom I found on i-Club.

Premier Auto Glass
Operations Manager: Elmer Ramirez
Main: (408) 943-1200
Mobile: (408) 829-9367

Charged me only $175 cash (Pilkington brand).

Oh and the OEM windshield is not something one should go back to.
