Thats because there aren't. AWD cars are except from the loaded test, and get an idle test and an unloaded revved test.

and as posted above

you can answer most of your questions at

www.smogcheck.ca.gov

and also mentioned above

the test for our cars is called a TSI 30 seconds @ 2500 rpm,30 seconds @ idle (must idle under 1100 varies slightly per car)

the other major difference between the TSI and the ASM wich is a loaded dyno test is that it gives you 2 chances to pass

so first shot 2500rpm 30 sec.,then idle 30 sec. if it fails

pre-conditioning for 320 seconds@ 2500 rpm

10 second rest then 2500rpm@30 sec.,then idle 30 sec.

I know the reply is a bit late, but when I sold my 02 Wagon earlier this year (bought in March 02, sold in March 07) I had to smog it. The car was pretty much back to stock anyways (only non-stock powertrain part was a turbo inlet hose....WAAAY too much PITA to swap that one back!), so no big deal and it passed easily. As others mentioned, it is an idle/2500 test.

Ironically, my "older tech" 96 Chevy Impala SS runs cleaner thru the stock cats than my 02 WRX did thru the stock cats
