03 WRX VF23 Xede only 1 BAR

Was driving fine till I went to the dentist got out, hit it to merge onto 92 and went hmmm really slow, looked down to see I'm at stock boost levels.

Now the car does not drive funky in any way (idle is fine/no sputter/studder/knock/etc) it just does not reach target boost which is usually a tad over 1.2 bars 1.3 on cold nights. I just cleaned the MAF checked the air filter (did not seem to by dirty enough to restrict) and also did a battery disconnect. The vacuum hoses seem to be all intact, the wastegate was in the closed position when I checked all of this.

I can add to this with questions asked if need be. Wastegate pressure is 8-10psi so.... 1 bar is above that, stock boost controller is out of the question.

A buddy had the same problem from what it sounds like and ended up being a boost leak because a coupling on the FMIC was a bit loose. You may have checked because you are pretty knowledgable but check around for boost leaks, yank on hoses and you might find a loose one.

Tried all hoses and followed them with a flashlight and tugged on them and there is no obvious hissing noises either which usually comes with a loose coupler.

Sounds like what happened to my car a while back...new solenoid and tune and its all fine and dandy

My boost levels fluctuated from 6psi low, average about 8-10 and sometimes up to 12psi

Yeah I'm thinking either a sticky wastegate, or maybe the ECU was compensating for air flow on the MAF? I dunno...

With a super custom setup like yours its hard to tell...hopefully it doesn't come back

I didn't have my car for almost three months because of that issue

Yeah I dunno esp having xede I don't know much about it still, all I know if that it is a stock ecu with an attachment and its closer to ECUTEK than cobb is for sure. Maybe more like a Utec set up too.

That's funny - VF23 + Xede = Vishnu, right? Same as my car, basically. Only, my Xede is on a shelf somewhere and Ed @ EQ took car of my tune on my car via open-source.

That's funny, I guess I started my post a while ago. Ha! Does he still tune Xede? Or Subarus? Seemed like his site has not changed for a long time. Still Steve's car on there.
