tried looking through the thread but got so tired of reading post, so my question is does buttonwilliow rent helmets? I read a post that said they might, but I need to know if they actually do. If not where in the bay can I get a racing helmet on Saturday?
Thanks,
Jason

I don't know about this event in particular, but the minimum requirement for Buttonwillow for HPDE's is probably Snell95, and either a SA or M (Motorcycle) rating would be ok.
I think they have rentals, but you might want to call and make sure.
If you're going to go buy one, get one from a reputable manufacturer, and not just buy a particular model because it's cheap. Never, ever buy used. This is your head you're talking about after all. Make sure it fits properly (it should be a little on the tight side). If you're getting an open-faced hat, you'll need eye protection - sunglasses will do.

Second Driver???
Hi,
I'm wondering if I can bring a friend to drive my car on the track too?
does he need to pay seperately?
Cheers,

The gates open at 7 if I remember correctly. Drivers meeting is usually held 8:30. I know all this info about Buttonwillow cuz Ive driven there quit a few times with several different organizations.
Arthur: I would LOVE another Subaru to caravan with, but i'll be leaving sunday night and staying at a hotel. Its 100 miles from Valencia which really sucks to drive in the early *** AM to then drive some more at the track. Its only like $30 a night at Motel 6 which is about 8 miles from the track. Im sure there are gonna be a lot of people staying the night ahead so it'll prolly be a Subie car show in the parking lot.
BTW, what hotel is everyone staying at?
