*** Warning *** SJ: POLICE TO HOLD SAFETY AND SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT FRIDAY NIGHT
SJ: POLICE TO HOLD SAFETY AND SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT FRIDAY NIGHT
SAN JOSE (BCN)
San Jose police will conduct a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint Friday night.
Officers will check to make sure drivers are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and that each has a valid license. If a driver is found in violation of any laws, he or she will be arrested.
Checkpoints are also a good preventive tool, police said. By publicizing efforts to cut down on drinking and driving, the department believes motorists can be deterred from driving under the influence.
Funding for the operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The checkpoint will be held from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location.

I'm willing to bet it will turn into a state ref check point!

Dammit, and I was planning on recklessly driving drunk through San Jose in my illegally modified car without my license.
What the hell am I supposed to do on my Friday night, now? Guess I'll just have to hit the sideshows up in Oakland.

I know there's a very good reason for these sort of check points especially around holidays and what not but typically when I see them I take a detour and go right around them since I normally don't drink and especially don't drive when I've had a few to knock back.
