man i cant wait to get my cologne
and count me in on the race (if my car doesnt blow up again).
What is the layout of the event going to be? Are we going to do solo laps? or fastest lap with cars on the track?

or
we should have a 5 / 10 and 15 beer racing categories
that would be ablast
(of course not all cars on at once)
guy pounds 5 beers, then takes 1 lap
next guy goes and does 1 lap
blah blah
then we have 10 beer category (these guy's drink while the 5 beer category guy's race)
and same thing for 15 beer category
it'd be a ****ign blast

I think we need to be clear about this so that people don't cry and moan about cheating and such.

from my understanding the shops have to have the owner of the car drive for the shootout, I would assume this is the same as well?

Did someone say that there may be cars with paid drivers??
Why the hell would anyone do that, it's only a track day. Even for a tuner shootout/dick swingin contest it would seem a little bit much especially as with all the different setups and such it would seem impossible to do something where the results would actually mean anything.
For the most part the biggest check book would win if "ringer" drivers were used which would hardly be an indication of tuner supremecy.
Alex - have you sorted out the format for the tuner shootout thing yet so at least anyone thinking of putting a car into it can see what the criteria is?

Exactly my point.
It will already be an unfair way to judge a "contest" because people will have all sorts of different set-ups.
That's why it would be helpful to run a "test/contest" with rules established in advance so that there is some standard (s) to base our decision on which widget is better. Such rules/classes would include, for example; chassis code, engine size, hp rating, driver class, unlimited class or whatever.
Either we have these standards available for everyone or we chuck the whole idea, including the tuner contest, have a huge BBQ BAIC track day and just have fun.
I personally would rather participate in a contest with rules or have a track day with BAIC folk ,eat, drink, and hire some hot female errr umm professional entertainment
or even better…what about having both!
