The WRX AC really eats power, as well as gas. Here in AZ when it hits over 100 degrees and I have to run the AC just to keep from passing out behind the wheel, my gas mileage goes down 30-60 miles a tank, I have to go WOT to make 65 in the acceleration lane and the entire power band of the car feels diminished.

The A/C compressor does drag on the motor some, but not as bad as older model cars. It also kicks off under WOT because it figures you wanna go faster more than you wanna be cooler.
