td05 18g or td06 20g

Which turbo would give me an efficient daily driver with the power to have some fun? Also, what is the difference in the spooling?
I have a 2006 WRX TR and drove an 06 wagon with the 20g, 7cm housing, and it was awesome.
will the 18g perform any better than the 20g and if so in what way?

It could have been my car. Here is my graph with the change in HP due to moving from WRX cat back to STi cat back. Notice how identical the spool is of our 2 cars.

Must be because even though you have the 18G compressor wheel, you are using the 8cm turbine housing; mine has the 20G wheel with 7cm housing. I would imagine that with your more free flowing exhaust makes up for some of the HP up top where as my restrictive sti cat back is holding me back from 300WHP.

3rdeye, get your car back for 100 octane tune and then we will do 100 octane on my wagon on the same day to see an even better comparo!

Our spool is pretty much identical. My turbo also came with the standard FP s00pa port job!

Well with full 3 inch exhaust, I should be able to hit 300/300. So 20HP for 400 is worth it in my book. Also, if you go for a race gas tune, the 20G is going to out perform the 18G.
