If you are scratching together the budget for a WRX, go with the newest one you can. Hardcore tuning like doing a swap always costs more than what you plan on. Go with the warranteed (at least for a while ) car.

1. You want reliable get a WRX.
2. You want to learn A LOT! Get an RS, do a Turbo Kit with piggy backs, then realize they suck. Get standalone engine management. Run 15 PSI with 100 octane and kick some butt. Then blow the tranny, find out the entire engine block is leaking, as all the seals have blown from to much power. Realize you want a reliable engine. Drop a WRX engine into an RS. After 2 years you have a beast. JDM engine with AVCS, 9:1 compression and a full 4.444 drivetrain, along with many awesome mods...
I choose number 2, and I am still glad I did. Though I spent a hell of a lot more.

Lol...Thanks for the heads up. Then I will go with the WRX. What stock turbo does it come with? Is this a good list for it so far?:
