You are gonna have to do more than a bolt on kit to get 350hp. Any kit with standalone engine management will squeeze out the most possible. Probably ~320hp or so, that's pushing it though.

It's almost impossible to get 350whp out of a turbo kit on a 2.5L motor. They aren't built for boost. You're better off looking into a WRX swap IMHO.

I was just wondering I was going to buy a turbo kit and more to hopefully get my RS past 350hp
Just a few words of wisdom from one who has been there and done that.

350 hp at the fly is doable but you may find your self at the limit. It just will not happen with the stock injectors or ecu. You MUST get a stand alone ECU like a Link or TEC 3 or something like that.

The real estimate for power at the fly with 7-9 psi on a stock RS engine with management and new injectors is about 300 or so. Depending on the chasis dyno you use for tuning.. It may lay down anywhere from 200-260 hp to the wheels. With torque numbers from 240-290 lbs...

My old RST put down 212 hp and 240 torque a the wheels on Shiv's dyno. His dyno is notorious for reading low. Now the new STi puts down 212 and similar amounts of torque on his dyno. So those number are on par for 300 hp and 340 torque for my set up on the RST.

All that was done with a fully built up forged block and TEC 3 engine management and a Ludespeed Stage 2 turbo kit. I was running 12 psi at the time. The car was still pulling like a mad dog even till the day I sold her.

All of this came with a HUGE price tag. Over 10k alone under the hood. The torque is amazing the horse power numbers were not so amazing. That said, If a torque monster car is what you want for stop light drags and just lay ya in the seat acceleration that will rival a C5 Corvette or better. Than the RST is up your alley.

If you want a reliable and street worthy daily driver with little or no worry and you want to have the opportunity to lay down 350 horse power at the fly and to heck with the mind blowing torque, then do a ej20 swap from a WRX and you will be happy. You can have a swap done for about 7-8k and your done. The RST will be a egg shell walker if you get my meaning... Good luck

mr. m, I ran 4.4 psi of boost with a RRFPR and no engine management and I broke #4 piston in the blink of an eye. So, don't do it. It is not just the octane rating but rather a bunch of small details. Like series fuel rail deliver versus the parallel modification. That alone is far more reliable for the stock set up. You are just scratching the surface. Stock fuel pump... no way. The stock clutch, no way. Stock fuel deliver, no way to do it safe. Trust me when I tell ya, do it right. If you plan to keep the engine stock internaly, fine. You can do that and run 7 psi all day long IF you use engine management. The timing and fuel delivery is the most critical part of the RST set up. If you don't think so, do a search and find out for yourself.

I though it could be done, but I found out that the cheap way will kill your eninge and leave you flat broke or on foot.

I don't mean to make the whole thing sound so drastic, but I have been through it and it is a very costly mistake to make. So, it is cheaper in the long run to get it done right the first time.

More proof of the cheap approch to Turbo tuning and the ej25.

Raise the dead much?

Depends on which one, they range from ~215 to ~320 (yes, I know about the 276hp "limit"). And how the heck did this end up in General anyway?
