motor blew...
I was driving on 66 and I floored it on my way to an exit. Everything seemed normal and all the sudden smoke from the engine! after a couple seconds engine stopped running. I take a look under the hood and there is oil and coolant all over the place. The overflow tank cap for the coolant came off and the coolant got everywhere. I was looking for where the oil came out of and couldn't pin-point any place. It was so weird no "Bang" or "pop" it just gave in quietly. the engine is turning over but not starting. I look at the plugs and all 4 are fine, their is spark. I do not know what it is? The motor was not modded it was a factory EJ25 with WRX turbo assembly. I really didn't see it coming

Hum sounds like my old Xt turbo! Did the plugs have a slight dusting of metal flakes? Checked the fuel pump? Mine fried the rings and turbo! Dealer wasnt sure if the blow-off valve got stuck or the fuel pump died. But something leaned it out and melted some things. Hint drop a 1/4 oil down each plug hole. Try it then. The oil will some what return compression for a few minutes. Then it dies again. Sure sign of rings! bout 800 installed "1993" But mine was the NEW fangdangled 6 that the produced in slight numbers.

Sorry for the error! I bought a Pair Of Xt's For 3000 the 88 was the 2.7 and the 87 was the 1.8 turbo. I drove both for about six months trying to sell the 1.8 since my ol man was breathing down my neck for the insurance he had on them But as u say It just slowed to a stop! So as a idiot It was fixed. Then sold for 1900.00 after. Still wonder what came of it.

Alright! maybe my motor didnt blow after all. we were lookin at it today and realized the car jumped timing by 6 marks! so.. perhaps the car wont start due to that.. im waiting on a friend who will take the radiator out and wel reposition it. hopefully it will start, if that is the problem ill just go and purchase new belts!
