i thought that as long as you had atleast 1 highflow cat, you would pass emissions...? the cat in the up pipe is a pre-cat, and the one in the downpipe and midpipe are regular cats. im pretty sure if u get a (for example) TurboXS TBE with the highflow cat, youll pass emissions, dont quote me on it though.

If you live in California, all you can get away with is an uppipe (they won't notice, it's still illegal though) a catback and a reflash. That's it. Everything else can get you popped in an underhood inspection or smog time. Most other states will allow you to replace the downpipe if it has a highflow cat. You'll have to let us know exactly where you are though.

I passed emissions in Northern California with an uppipe, catback, and a reflash (not even close on the emissions readings). You may be able to pass with a highflow downpipe that fits under the standard heatshield (so long as it looks stock - I don't think they look under the car for the third cat).

If you buy a new car, you don't have to get smogged for like 4 years, so I wouldn't worry too much.

IMO the downpipe is fairly easy to swap in/out as well
