VF22, its cheaper and offers pretty much the same power. Besides the Greddy turbo is oil cooled only. A better comparison would be a PE1818/PE1820. And I'd still take one of those over the Greddy turbo.

i still think the FP 18G is better than the 1818 and the FP 20g / green are way better than the 1820,

but get the 22, mine is factory just as it comes new, and its not that laggy.. but it brings power up to redline and can handle more boost than a 30/34

Honestly, I'd use a VF34 on a daily driver. top end is only slightly less on 91 but it spools faster and is stronger on low end.

In my opinion you cant even compare an 18G vs a VF22, an 18G is a 600cfm turbo that still spools faster than the 460cfm VF22, and yes you can get them in water/oil cooled, if anything you should compare the VF22 to a small 16G, though the 16G will still blow the VF22 away and by all acounts spools as fast or faster than a VF30 on a 2 liter, and you can get them for about $750

As for octane, well thats going to handicap any turbo you choose, but the 18G or 16G will still make more power on 91oct than a 22

VF22 is great for the $.

HKS GT-RS kit is what I would get. It is more expensive, but oh well.

Sorry to dig up a dead thread, but what is the difference between the PE 1818 and the FP 18G?

the 18G is a Mitsubishi turbo, the PE1818 is a VF30 with the PE compressor wheel(actually a GM diesel turbo wheel) to make it flow more than a standard VF34

Krink-name after the gun?

Thanks for the info. Now, what type of performace difference are we talking about between these two turbos? I know the PE1818 is a ball bearing turbo, but is the TD05-18G ball bearing as well? Do these two turbos use the same housing, TD05, and just different turbines?

DeadBolt sells a TD05-18G, aka Zilla, and the a PE1818 "clone", aka Kong. Most places sell the PE1818 for $1500. The Kong even comes with one of their "monster port jobs" for only $1295, of course they call it a clone.

Zilla-18G
oil cooled-$995
oil and water-$1195

Kong-PE1818
Oil cooled-$1295

They also sell the FP Green, aka Superzilla. What is the difference between the TD06H and TD06-FP green turbine housing?

I also have replied to another turbo thread in the STi forum with regards to how these turbos would perform with the STi engine. Please feel free to stop over there and answer those questions.
