If you don't mind a suggestion...
If you're broke, don't put a turbo in. Leave your car alone until you can afford to put the turbo in the correct way the first time.

Again, don't do it.
Imagine you're trying to bolt this all together, and like most projects, you can't find a piece or two... or three.. and you've got to make a "quick run to the store" for those parts. Oh, and that used fuel pressure regulator that you picked up is blown.. the wastegate spring isn't the one you want for your application....
Tyically this scenario cascades down and down and down and down...
If you aren't "comfortable" in your monitary standings DON'T DO IT.

In none of the discussions I have read lately about putting in extra boost do I read about the extra bearing loads that are created. You can be very sure that the folks who prepare the WRC cars in Great Britain are not using stock bottom end stuff but con rod, mains, cam bearings et al made to take the heat. From sad experience (with other marques, such as an ancient Mustang 289), when you add stuff on top, you need to add compensatory stuff on the bottom, or a short, unhappy life is ahead of you. [And an expensive one, also.]

Make sure your tranny is in good shape. If you have any gear grind, or metal shards in your fluid, it's bad news. It's going to cost me $2500 to get my tranny rebuilt. Every part in your car will incur increased loads, so be ready to replace broken parts. If u decide to do it, going with a premade kit is cheaper and easier in the end.
