1993 Impreza L : Turbo project (Engine Swap?)
hey guys,
i just bought a subaru impreza L from my roommate and im looking make it my project car. Ive been involved with honda's are couple years now doing b series engine swaps etc.
Im nuB for subaru's, though i own a subaru legacy L wagon (daily driver) anyways im looking to turbo or do an engine swap.
if any knowledgable member would send me in the right direction
with any good topics about swaps or aftermarket turbo kits.
some kind of direction to get me started... whats the best route for speed and reliability? where to get a kit or swap? what kind of times for different possibilities? cost? any input would be greatly
appreciated thanks

Welcome! Ummm... where to start...
Basically, just spend some time browsing through the aftermarket turbo forum, as well as the factory turbo forums. You'll learn more that way, and faster, than by us posting up advice and info in this thread. Shorthand answers are, do a swap for reliability and turbo what you have to be creative/unique. FYI, any motor that was ever in a Legacy, Forester, or Impreza will fit in your car. The most important of these are EJ20 variants and the STi and turbo Baja/Forester motors. You'll probably find that those swaps are every bit as easy as the Honda swaps you're used to as long as you do a little research before beginning. Good luck!

Getting a wrecked WRX front clip is deffinitely a good way to go. You have all the wiring, all the engine, all the fun.
also, isn't a 93 L only front wheel drive??
Sounds like you're going to need some more parts to make this swap worthwile.
What good is all that power with all the grip?
