Will i get Boost creep with HKS HI-power and HKS downpipe?
I just bough HKS HI-Power exhaust and HKS downpipe and im getting it installed tomorrow. My concern is if i will get any boost creep. I have a 2005 and its stock right could i do that with out the dealer knowing?? Thanks guys so much

Yes you will. You would have to port your turbo to get rid of it.

if u dont feel like porting your waste gate . you can go with a cobb accessport. I have an 05 sti with a helix dp and a vibarant catback. I am running a cattless setup with the cobbs tuning accessport and no creep. Runs fine plus the 50 extra horses and 85 pds of torque really brings your subie alive.

I have the same set up. Does porting the wastegate really necessary? Or can I just get a boost controller? Cause blitz has one were it senses boost creep, then drops it back down to a set low boost to prevent unwanted increased boost.

well i got the set-up and no creep what so ever. The hks downpipe is a perfect match for the cat-back. It was a good choice. I'm very happy with the decision that i made. It also sounds amazing. No regrets and no problems

The HKS downpipe is crap. That's why you won't get boost creep. It's too restrictive for the wastegate issue to become a problem.

Creep as in Increase?

...agreed, the US spec HKS dp is cra-pola. However, their jdm dp would very likely turn some serious heads in competition with Helix/etc. I'm hoping they bring something like it to the states soon.

haha why is the HKS downpipe crap BAN SUVS??? WHY is it it runs very well with that set up. Its not a bellmouth so that reduces it from gettin creep

It's not crap because the car runs badly, it's crap because it gives you practically zero performance gain. It's identical to the stock downpipe except it has no cat. The lack of a bellmought design prevents boost creep, because it prevents any additional exhaust flow. The downpipe remains the primary restriction in the exhaust, instead of the turbo like all the other good downpipes do.
