I just bought a Perrin "Y" intercooler hose for my 02 wrx and I'm just wondering if will improve my quarter mile time with my new Perrin "Y" intercooler hose?

It should help your spool up a little. It'd be better if you got the turbo inlet hose as well.
But, I think learning how to launch and shift better (no matter how good you are, you can always improve) will help your 1/4 more then that hose.

IC (intercooler) hoses don't make a noticeable difference in ¼-mile times or trap speed. Neither do lightweight underdrive pulleys. Unless your drag racing skills get you consistent time slip numbers, you won't be able to tell the difference. The power these mods add cannot be felt by the seat of the pants unless you have one damned sensitive ***.
Not every power-adding mod results in big jumps like tuning or exhaust so there's nothing wrong with IC hoses or lightweight pulleys on the '02 through '05 WRX.

I let a maxima 3.5 get me the other day from a roll.... i underestimated him & took off in a lower gear than i shoulda, i started pulling back at about 120 but it was getting dangerous so we shut down
