Question Subaru Newbie looking for a good mod shop/mechanic

I recently put a down payment on my first Subaru (a '03 WRX wagon). The car is bone stock, and I'm sure I will want to start modifying it in the near future. Since I live in an apartment and don't really have access to proper tools, I will be looking for a good Subaru mechanic or shop with Subaru modding expertise...any suggestions? I live on the Peninsula, so that area would be preferred if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, just across the bridge from you (in Hayward and Pleasenton) is Vishnu and Gruppe-S, both of whom are pretty well known modders. As for mechanic, I'm sure others will chime in.

ckevin recently opened his own shop in the peninsula, he's worked on both my old '02 WRX and my current '04 STi, and he's an excellent mechanic, very nice and very knowledgeable.

gruppe-s is a great source for parts and tuning and they install everything they sell as well.

LICmotorsports is a great place for installs as well

um I don't recommend Gruppe-S for parts or service any longer due to Moike's propensity for wearing ladies' knickers around the shop.

Thanks for all the info and replies. I'm picking up my car next week, so I'm spending this time doing as much research as possible.

Up until now, my knowledge has all been with Hondas —*Subarus being a different breed entirely, the more information I can get the better.
