Subydude's 2002 2.4L WRX

just sharing... not bragging

http://www.subydude.com/buildups/?postid=17

Notes: why 2.4L???
well its a 2.2 legacy motor that has bee modified to 2.4--- yes this is before subaru came out w/ the 2.5 turbo... the difference is that this motor is closed deck 2.4... does it make a difference? who f*kn knows... i do know that it hauls right now! WHOoooooooooot!

Tuner:
Brit Mike from Gruppe-s (just a personal note... but if you want to fix wrx up and want a custom tune, find a reputable tuner first... I made this mistake... we went through 4 motors and a lot of bull**** drama... mike did take a while to finish the car, but to no fault of his... just bad luck)

ECU:
Reprogrammed stock ECU- ecuTek

Motor:

2.4 Modified 2.2 Legacy Motor

Turbo:
Garrent Turbo... Beats me really what it is! its some GT something... ya its a Garret turbo...the first turbo was blowing smokes... this one seems to be smoke free! . (pix below)

Cooling:
CoolTek Oil Cooler
Top Mount Intercooler
Water Mist cooler (not attachedd)

Fuel:
Perrin Fuel Rail
P.E. 650 Injectors
Upgraded Fuel Pump

Intake:
Porkchop Special Intake (see pix below)

Drivetrain:
SD 5MT Short Shifter
5MT RA Gear set... (this damn thing is the anti overdrive... you're rollin' like 4k rpm doing 89-90... fun stuff... always on power... gotta love it.... definately not commuter friendly...)

Suspension:
JIC coils - (which i'm about to change... its time to try something new... car have always handled great... I would recommend getting your suspension "turned" by a professional... it makes a huge diff)

Dialy Driver Wheels:
18 x 8 Rota P45f w/ 235/40/18 Tires... what else!

Future Wheels:
18 x 8 Tarmac III (charcoal grey)
18 x 8 D2 (royal gold/royal steel grey --- yes i rock 2 color wheels!)

Pump Gas Dyno#s:

Turbo Shot:

Intake/Intercooler Shot:

Car Shots:

nice to have my car back in "running" condition. I'll polish her
up when we have consistant dry weather here in the Bay Area...
