Just about to wrap up my first experience with fiberglass...I think they came out pretty well, anxious to hear what it sounds like. I'll be putting a 10" JL sub in each enclosure, just thought i'd see what you all think. Fiberglassing is fun if anybody local needs help (might be the resin fumes talking )

I cast the mold inside the car with fiberglass mat, and then used dowels to support a ring of MDF. I put 1/8" square wire mesh on the dowels to get the form right, and then layered on the fiberglass mat and cloth until it was think enough. Lots of work! It was fun though

I would love to! I thought about making an extra set and putting them on ebay, but i'd much rather customize them for individual people, different speaker sizes, etc. I've got a buddy with a sedan I could take the mold from if you're serious...

I fI were to have one made it would probably be for a 10 or 12 what would be a ruff price of one. I think they look cool and very custom.

Plus I'd have to talk to the account (wife) I need to get her car running first.. I have to have the tranny re-built

I can do pretty much whatever you want, 2 10" subs, 1 12" sub, 4 15" subs Let me know what subs you're going to be using and I can find the required volume for the enclosures. The ones I just built for my car are for 10" subs, and they pump out more than enough bass to fill the car (and most of the neighborhood) I'm really amazed at the sound, fiberglass really is the way to go. I'll check around at some car audio places to see what they charge for similar glass work, and probably charge half what they say. Before I built mine, I got a quote from a shop for $1200 which seemed ridiculously high...hence the reason I built my own...

It cost about $180 for everything, but it also took me about 40 hours. I used a ton of resin to make sure everything was sealed and strong...also had to buy a better respirator halfway through... methyl ethyl ketone and brain cells don't get along very well...
