matte vs satin vs flat

so i want to go a different route then the usual paint jobs for my car & i was wondering, what is the difference, if any between the matte, satin, & flat paint options. Also, i have heard people talking about a matte/flat clear coat you can shoot on, anyone know if there is additional prep work involved when shooting this? or if it is mixed differently then the typical clear coat? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into a complete vinyl overlay of your car? This seems like the in thing now as it is removable when you get tired of it. Just not sure if anywhere on this island does it, or at least have the expertise of doing it.

Anyway, matte is a nice color but it is a PAIN in the *** to maintain, especially in Hawaii where it is very dusty.

I know they have a GB on the other site and you can pick a ton of different colors. Some guys are doing it themselves.

I don't think I could though...actually I KNOW I couldn't.

Try talking to the sticker guys on the island and/or the tint shops. Maybe the shops that do the clear bras.

Matte-Black FTW! If they made matte-black vinyl overlay I'd be all over it.

Not for the Legacy though, or course.

the vinyl does come out well but as stated before it seems like no one to our knowledge does it yet. & even if i did find someone willing to lay vinyl i dont want to be the test subject.

Black is pita everywhere you live.
Vinyl Matte scratch pretty easy, just think about scratching the rubber/plastic behind some phone, it will leave a mark.

Matte Black is the shiz. I'd be all over it, but the wife said she'll kill me if I brought home the Foz that color. All I need to say is check out TimeAtk's ride on Nasioc. <<<Sikness...

It costs ~$3000 for a full vinyl wrap.

If I had to repaint a car, will definitely matte black because it will be the only car on the whole island!

And Matte Black with some red finish is BADASS imo
